Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Try Convi ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using tryconvi.com you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Email address. Only if you choose to give us one, so we can tell you when the app is ready. It is never required to use anything on the site.
- Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-first: it does not use cookies and does not track or identify individual visitors. It only gives us aggregate figures like page views, referring sites, countries, and site performance.
- Site counters. We keep a handful of running totals: how many pages were viewed, how many separate visitors there were on a day, how many of those had been here before, which country they were in, and how many practice rounds were finished. Nothing in them identifies you. There is no account, no cookie and no tracking identifier of any kind.
- How returning visitors are counted. To know whether anyone comes back, your browser has to be recognisable as one we have seen before. Your IP address is combined with a secret value and turned into a one-way hash the moment your request arrives; only that hash is stored, and your address is never written down. The hash cannot be turned back into your address, we never try, and it deletes itself after 30 days without a visit. Your country comes from the network itself and is the only thing about your location that is recorded — never a city, never an address. This is an estimate by design: several people on one phone network share an address and may be counted as one visitor.
- Local storage. Your practice progress — which stages you've cleared, your streak, which lines you got wrong — is kept in your own browser, along with your sound and voice settings. None of it is ever sent to us; the only thing that leaves your device is the anonymous "one more round was finished" tick described above, which says which language deck it was and nothing else.
- Technical data. We briefly process IP addresses to rate-limit our forms, to protect against abuse, and to produce the anonymous counts described above. They are never stored and never used to profile you.
How we use your information
- To send you product updates and respond to your messages.
- To understand overall traffic and improve the site.
- To see how much the site and the practice section are actually used.
- To protect the service from abuse.
Payments
There aren't any. Try Convi is free to use and we do not take payments or handle card details of any kind.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make Try Convi work — our email provider (Resend) and hosting, data infrastructure and analytics (Vercel, Upstash) — and only as needed to run the service.
Your rights
You can ask us to access or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. Just email us and we'll take care of it.
